Climate

Fun fact – Spain is the one country in Europe that has the most diverse climate. The lovely thing about Spain is that, due to the interesting geography of the country, the climate is just as diverse. Its climate features hot summers and cold winters. However, this can vary. The coasts can serve hot summers but also mild winters. There are several different climatic zones in Spain, and they are a Mediterranean climate (both hot and mild), an oceanic climate, a warm-summer continental climate, and a semi-arid climate. Even though the average temperatures can go from 3 Celsius degrees during the winter to 31 Celsius degrees during the summer, you should always leave some space for a surprise. This only adds up to the adventure when you travel to Spain. Of course, before traveling, make note of the places that you want to visit and their altitude.

Cairo is associated with ancient Egypt, as the Giza pyramid complex and the ancient cities of Memphis and Heliopolis are located in its geographical area. Located near the Nile Delta,[4][5] the city first developed as Fustat, a settlement founded after the Muslim conquest of Egypt in 640 next to an existing ancient Roman fortress, Babylon. Under the Fatimid dynasty a new city, al-Qāhirah, was founded nearby in 969. It later superseded Fustat as the main urban centre during the Ayyubid and Mamluk periods (12th–16th centuries).[6] Cairo has long been a centre of the region’s political and cultural life, and is titled “the city of a thousand minarets” for its preponderance of Islamic architecture. Cairo’s historic center was awarded World Heritage Site status in 1979.

  • People have their dinner later than expected. If you are one of those people that is used to having dinner at about 6 pm or 7 pm, then you might find this a bit weird. People in Spain do not have their lunch until pretty late in the evening, 9 o’clock, sometimes even 10 pm.

  • You can’t find paella everywhere. Yes, it is a dish that is associated with Spain, but it is not a traditional dish that comes from the entire country. It only comes from the Valencia region, although for tourist purposes, they try to make it as available as possible. The same thing goes for the sangria. This is just for tourists. If you are looking for some wonderful Spanish wines, then you should try their summer varieties – they are exquisite.

  • If you wish to travel to Spain, avoid August. Since most people take their vacations during this month, there is a high chance of you walking along empty streets and passing by many closed restaurants. August is their month to relax and unwind.
